About Us

Kelly Gutowski, LCSW is licensed social worker and experienced therapist who has been working with individuals, groups and couples since 2000. A graduate of Arizona State University, she received her Master's Degree in Social Work and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Family Issues.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist Kelly specializes in counseling with adults in the areas of improving mental health wellness, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, healthy relationships, life balance, coping skills, relapse prevention, and personal success coaching. She accepts most major insurances and private pay for her services. Kelly practices from an empowerment perspective that all people can open the doors to change to create more happiness in their lives. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She uses a professional, caring, and compassionate approach to help clients gain insights into the thoughts and emotions that may be holding them back from the happiness they desire and share tools to help facilitate change. 

Kelly also has used her expertise in her role as a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University to teach and to train new social workers and therapists, and in consulting with other counselors and agencies as a Clinical Supervisor to train on best practices.

Open Doors Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting was founded by Kelly and Chris Gutowski in 2012, inspired by their passion for helping people create change in their lives. Kelly serves as the CEO and Psychotherapist providing agency oversight, clinical direction, supervision and direct services. Prior to founding Open Doors, Kelly has worked as a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Counselor/Therapist, and Specialist at other community social service and mental health agencies.

Christina Kennedy, MA, LAMFT, is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who cares deeply about helping her clients find the happiness they seek, while restoring balance in their lives. Christina is a warm, empathic therapist who works to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for individuals and couples to feel understood and accepted so that healing can take place.

Christina specializes in working with couples to bring healing and restore connection. In addition she works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self esteem, grief, trauma, addiction, domestic violence and parenting issues. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Experiential Therapy.

Christina earned her Master's of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Hope International University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. She has also completed Advanced Training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). Additionally, she is "Prepare and Enrich" certified and has completed her Level 1 Training in Gottman Couples Therapy.  Christina currently works as a part time Therapist Associate at Open Doors Counseling accepting Private Pay clients.

Chris Gutowski is an experienced leader with a passion for customer service. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Phoenix, and has been in leadership positions for over 15 years. As the COO and Administrative Director, Chris uses his years of business expertise to oversee the administrative operations at Open Doors Counseling, Coaching and Consulting. A co-founder of Open Doors, Chris believes by treating people with respect and listening to their needs, it can inspire change.


Open Doors Counseling utilizes contract staff to provide services under the supervision of
Kelly Gutowski, LCSW and CEO.

of Phoenix, Glendale, Paradise Valley, Peoria, and Scottsdale.
Services include counseling, psychotherapy, therapy, coaching, life coaching, 
couples counseling, consulting and clinical supervision.
