Kelly Gutowski, LCSW is Licensed Clinical Social Worker and experienced therapist who has been working with individuals, groups and couples since 2000. A graduate of Arizona State University, she received her Master's Degree in Social Work and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Family Issues.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist Kelly specializes in counseling with adults in the areas of improving mental health wellness, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, healthy boundaries, life balance, coping skills, relapse prevention, navigating life transitions, and coaching. She accepts most major insurances and private pay for her services. Kelly practices from an strengths perspective, and believes that all people can open the doors to change, and create healthier, happier lives. She looks at the whole person to tailor services to their specific needs and goals. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Coaching tools. Kelly uses a professional, encouraging, and compassionate approach to help clients gain insights into the thoughts and emotions that may be holding them back from the happiness they desire and share tools to help facilitate change.
Kelly also has used her expertise in her role as a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University to teach and to train new social workers and therapists, and in consulting with other counselors and agencies as a Clinical Supervisor to train on best practices.
Open Doors Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting was founded by Kelly and Chris Gutowski in 2012, inspired by their passion for helping people create change in their lives. Kelly serves as the CEO and Psychotherapist providing agency oversight, clinical direction, supervision and direct services. Prior to founding Open Doors, Kelly has worked as a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Counselor/Therapist, and Specialist at other community social service and mental health agencies.
Christine Besaw-McGavren is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Arizona. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development, both from Arizona State University.
In her couples and family work, Christine strives to support a healthy, balanced family system. Her areas of expertise include marital therapy, blended families, parenting and family relationships. She works with clients to interrupt hurtful relationship patterns, strengthen communication, and create meaningful closeness that is fulfilling and authentic to each family member. Christine provides a safe, nonjudgmental environment for clients to explore various issues. Her goal is to help each client understand how to be more present in their lives, better balanced, achieve their personal goals, and to discover, accept, and implement their best selves. Working together with you, the client, she will support you in creating the life and relationships you desire.
Amber Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of AZ. She holds a masters degree in counseling and a bachelors degree in the science of Biology with emphasis in pre physician assistant studies.
In her therapy work Amber works with individuals, couples, and families in areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, increased communication, family difficulties, and parenting services. She specializes in various treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and common sense parenting. She tailors interventions to accommodate each individuals unique journey and carries a high level of compassion and understanding for the stress and difficulties that can come from seeking therapy services. Amber works to help individuals and families create, achieve, and maintain goals, process emotions, and achieve emotional balance and happiness according to each individuals diverse needs. She creates a therapeutic environment conducive to feeling safe and comfortable while assisting each client in finding clarity within their personal and family life.
Chris Gutowski is an experienced leader with a passion for customer service. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Phoenix, and has been in leadership positions for over 15 years. As the COO and Administrative Director, Chris uses his years of business expertise to oversee the administrative operations at Open Doors Counseling, Coaching and Consulting. A co-founder of Open Doors, Chris believes by treating people with respect and listening to their needs, it can inspire change.
